• Lee Burridge

"The year really has been excellent musically and personally," says Lee Burridge. "I only had two requests. Both made me laugh and were on the same night. The first was for 'Insomnia' by Faithless and then a chap over 50 asked me to play Westlife. "I didn't," he adds to our disappointment. Lee did, however, spend the summer in Romania, an as-yet undeveloped clubbing gem for which he is full of praise. "The clubs and parties on the beach this year were by far my favourite gigs, alongside Kristal Club in Bucharest." Close second came his adventures at Burning Man - where "music meets art meets Mad Max meets Walt Disney on acid" - in the heart of the Nevada Desert. "That goes someway to describing what it's like but words really can't do it justice." Ever the professional, Lee carried on playing through the middle of a sudden dust storm. His label Almost Anonymous continues to grow, releasing Exercise One remixes of 'Treat 'em Mean, Keep 'em Keen', his first single with production partner Dan F. And follow-up track 'Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers' is in the pipeline for next year. The last few months also saw Lee putting together the latest in the 'Balance' series, a three-CD compilation of perfect late-night house and techno. 'It is, for me, the best mix project I've put together since 'Tyrant,'" adds Lee. "Go and buy it. It's brown."
