• Timo Maas

"It's a very creative time," says German musical polymath Timo Maas. "I'm working on some very interesting production material." Spending much of 2007 holed up in the studio with an array of new projects, Maas is readying a load of fresh music for next year. "Basically, 2007 is the year of the changes for me. I'm not releasing anything this year but I've been extremely busy on several new projects for 2008. I'm working with Martin Buttrich and a third person, a very famous person, on vocals, but I can't tell you who it is yet! "I'm also working on new Timo Maas material and other club material." Despite his tenure in the studio, Maas has still found the time to rinse out Glastonbury, and he's got nothing but praise for Ukraine's Kazantip festival and the Ambasada Gavioli club in Slovenia. "Kanzantip festival in Ukraine is the wildest, most anarchic shit in the world. It goes on for five weeks! It's such an interesting vibe, so different," laughs Timo. "I also played for the first time in Ambasada Gavioli, which is in Llubjana, Slovenia, near the Italian border with Croatia. That was fucking mind-blowing, man!" Right now, Maas has his eyes trained on next year and his exciting, under-wraps new projects, signing off enigmatically with the phrase: "Expect the unexpected!"
