• Adam Sheridan

Although he rose to prominence as resident sensation at Northern bosh powerhouse GoodGreef and was tipped as a future star by Paul van Dyk, Adam Sheridan is no longer the new kid on the block. Infiltrating the Top 100 for the first time, Sheridan is now regularly releasing cleanly crafted trance rockets on PvD's Vandit label, as well as cultivating his own label empire in Soundstage - Carl Cox is caning the label's current release. Of course, Coxy caning your wares is always a good yardstick, and so too is success in Ibiza. This summer Sheridan compounded his sixth year at Cream Ibiza with a weekly set at the most gargantuan trance gig on the planet - Tiësto at Privilege - where his Elektrik Playground promotion hosted the back room. "I was shocked more than anything, the brand had only been running for a few months," he tells DJmag. Taking place monthly in the bricked arches of Leeds club Mission, the promotion had already booked names like tech fiend Mr C, the unstoppable Paolo Mojo and electro heads Prok & Fitch - a sign of Sheridan's own ever-broadening DJ palette. "I've definitely slowed down and started playing a lot more groovy," he informs. "I'm really into the Christian Smith stuff at the minute and Dubfire just takes the mick with his production." Hold tight for his techno cut 'Tackle Face' alongside Mark Maitland, which is gaining support from Jon Rundell and Carl Cox, and for Elektrik Playground dates at The Gallery in London.
