"It's been a pretty incredible year," says New York's Victor Calderone, the man whose golden touch earned him numerous remixes for Madonna during the late-'90s and beyond. "I've made a whole transition with my sound, made it a little bit more underground and techier." This has resulted in new night, Evolve, attracting guests like Carl Cox, Tom Stephan and DJ Deep, and spawning a mix CD to showcase his sound. "I've moved away from doing big remixes for pop artists," says Victor. "I'm doing what inspires me and it's pretty rewarding." With a new studio completed after eight months of hard work, Victor's also about to lay down this change of direction in his productions. "I'm looking forward to getting in there and cranking out some new music," he smiles. "Taking a risk has paid off for me. I feel I've matured as a DJ and producer and continue to grow, learn and evolve."
